Does anyone know how to set up guest SMB access? I want to share my music on my campus network like windows users do. As of right now it only seems to work if I am logged in to a PC using the same username as the one on my Mac and using that account password. I can't seem to have an open share that everyone can access.

Enable the SAMBA web administration interface - search for details on how to do this on www.macosxhints.com - and configure SAMBA using your web browser. You can definately add guest access - I've done it before.

GEE4ORCE is right, but a simpler option is to look up Sharepoints on versiontracker. It is freeware.

Hey Wafffle,
Did you ever get this to work? I've been trying to get it to work on my campus and haven't had any luck.

This is an excellent tutorial! Page 3 of the article shows you how to enable the web interface (or SWAT) for Samba. Within 10 minutes, I had this setup and read-only guest access to a share I created.

Okay, I've got SWAT running now but I'm still unable to give anonymous access to a share. Anyone have any ideas?
