ok, so back before I got 10.2.4 I always got a KP connecting to a PC on my campus with SMB, now after 10.2.4 the first few times it connected properly, but I just got a KP yesterday after having my G4 running for almost a month. Why do I keep getting them, is there some preference in sharing I need to change, will apple fix this? I am using a DP 1ghz 768mb 10.2.4
if there is no easy fix to this, does anyone know of a shareware app that can display all PCs on the network and allow me to connect to them easily. thanks

Kernel panics, IMHO, are bound to happen sooner or later. Later could happen in two years or 2 days. Albeit, bad hardware, software or errant tachyons flying through your CPU can cause them. If the KPs are persistent, which yours doesn't seem to be, I would just collect the log information and try to figure out a rhyme or reason. I have had about 4 KPs since OS X 10.0 on the 4 computers I use. Two of them have been on my brand new stock dual 867. Do a search of this forum and you will see a lot of things causing KPs.
If your installation ran for a month without a KP logging onto an SMB share, it might be something else now.
