yes. i have heard a lot of people having issues with getting sound working in KDE.
you may have to install 'esound' or 'ess' sound servers via fink. i would love to offer more help, but i don't go tinkering with my system that much. u know installing linux stuff on OS X is still a pain the the bum and sometimes compromises your system's stability, which is something I can't afford to do.
perhaps supplying more information could be helpfull. i.e. what OS X version you are using and hardware.
