Is there any way to turn off the control certain system features have on the FKeys? (Brightness, Sound volume) Some of my games use the FKeys and with the brightness/volume still attached to the keys, it is difficult to play. I remember in OS9 there was a way to disable the FKeys thru a control panel. Is there something similar for OSX?

TIA

You must be on a laptop then, no?

I have this same problem on my Pismo, when I play Quake 2 I have to press the "fn" (function) button to allow me to use the FKeys, or else the brightness, volume, etc functions are called. I don't know how to circumvent this in OSX... bummer.

Well looky what TheMan found... Alright, check this out, a friend of mine just informed me of how to do this.

1. Boot into OS9 and uncheck the option in Keyboard control panel.
2. Boot back into OSX and the setting sticks, so it must be in OpenFirmware or something.

Woohoo. Laptop gamers rejoice.
