In Win2000 (and prior I would imagine) the default font that is used in a command window is something called Raster Fonts. I like it a lot. This font(s) does not appear to exist in the Fonts folder on my Win2K machine, but the Lucida Console font (from Win2K) moves over to OS X just fine.

Where is this "Raster Fonts" and where can I get it? Is there a copy-cat font out there? I looked on some font sites, but didn't find anything like it.

It doesn't appear to be any of the hidden '*.fon' files in cwinnt\fonts. It looks to be the same font that the computer starts up with. Is it possible that the font is being 'pulled' from the video card?

Well, now that I think of it, it is the same font that is used when you boot into single user mode on X, and for that matter it's the same font you'll see when using a Linux OS when booted into the command line directly (i.e., sans GUI).

As far as being "pulled" from the video card, I have no idea, but there has to be a way that this font can either be captured, or someone can/has developed a font file that matches its appearance.
