I've just purchased a new G4 with OS X installed. 2 things - I can't find where to change my folders to different colours like I could in OS 9...I loved that option! AND, when opening a folder in 'list' view, if I hold shift, select 2 files (that are not directly next to each other in the list), it selects all the files in between - exactly like a 'PC' would do it!!! that hurts. Does this mean I always have to view the files in icon view?

1) you can get a "haxie" to give you the labels feature from Unsanity

2) To select non-adjacent items, hold the command (apple) key.....

The lables (or changing folder's colors) are gone in 10. You can bring back that functionality with a third party application called Labels-X from Unsanity. www.unsanity.com
Also, to select two different files, not next to each other, hold down command (Apple key). I dont know why they've changed this, but after a while, you'll get used to it. Hope that helps.

Labels are great for displaying items in a list in the order you want without them having to have alphabetical names.

I would prefer badges.
