How odd - my Bluetooth pref pane is present in the /System/Library/PreferencePanes/ folder, but it's not showing up in the System Preferences.

Instead, I get two "General" Pref panes, one under the third-party heading.

I have uControl installed.

Any leads?

Edit: it turns out that removing uControl from the /Library/PreferencePanes folder allows the Bluetooth Prefpane to show up again.

How odd.

Hi,

Try deleting com.apple.preferencepanes.cache from the caches folder in your home library. Be sure to quit systemprefs before you do this. With a little luck that should fix it.

[edit] didn't notice your edit.

btw, uControl crapped out on me, the kext failed to load. Back to doublecommand..

Ah, thanks - that will be noted for future reference.

As it was, removing the uControl prefpane from the folder, restarting the System Preferences, quitting, and then putting it back and restarting the program again worked - for whatever reason. Probably re-wrote the com.apple...cache file.

Thanks, though.
