First the logo was Aqua Blue, now it's Jaguar.
What will they use for Panther, since there are different colored panthers (f.i. black)?

Yep, It's actually a high glossy pink with slightly darker hot pink/magenta type inner glow around the 'X'. It's ok, but kinda comes off as a little to 'happy' for me. There's talk of a pink theme version of aqua as well as a few other variants to accompany panther's release.

Hmm.. Even Pink is better than the Jaguar fur/skin thing we have now.. Everytime I see it, I think of Rod Stewart..

I guess you are just using these to illustrate your point? The real "About this Mac" window has never had the Jaguar theme, it is the same Aqua Blue it has always been. I would guess it will still be Aqua Blue in Panther.

I remember seeing a desktop somewhere a while ago that was black panther fur, similar to the faux jaguar fur that comes with Jaguar. Does anyone know where I can find this?

You can use a custom one if you want. That image file is at System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow/Contents/Resources/AboutBox.tiff

As many know, the Pink Panther was the mascot for OS/2.

Would a pink X suggest the strong IBM alliance?
