Hello,
I have a question about installing only some of the apps that come with software restore dvd(12" powerbook) I would like to install omnigraf and some others but not the office test drive and some others is there a way to go into the install package(or find the installer for just those apps in the package. Something like show package contents or something. Sorry if this is already explained.

Any help would be great.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

I believe Pacifist should help. You can find it on VersionTracker. It lets you pick and choose what you want to install from package files.

I've never used it myself but it everybody seems to like it for just this purpose.

It's really not worth the hassle of trying to extract certain files - if you run the "Install classic and other apps." installer from the software DVD restore you can select (to some degree) - later on in the installation dialogues - what you want to install. I think the FM & Office installers are installed - but they go into one folder called something like "installers" in your Application folder - it really is no sweat to just delete it.
