PP rules but it just reminded me of the old OS 7 vs DOS/Win3.1 flame wars where apple sucked because it's icon was rainbow colored.

Still, it'd be a great theme song for a commercial.

I don't think a logo like that is going to bring sales.

No, Voltron.

Edit: Gundam or Gundum? Dosesn't matter, it sucks.

I have 2 complete sets of Voltron himself, the castle, all the bad guy vehicles (including one that is still in its packaging)...brings back some awesome memories.
When power rangers came out all my buddies and I all thought it was a rip off of Voltron.
Anyone else a big Voltron enthusiast?

Quality toys back in the day, yo.
My friend had the complete dicast metal one that's like 3 feet tall (at least, it seemed like 3 feet, I was really young.) He had both the cats and the newer one with the cars and stuff.
He also had ALL the Transformers and Gobots.
My other friend had all the Robotech toys. The motorcycle suite was f*ckin' badass.

...?
... With this new logo, and - of course! - as long as the OS X "bong" and boot sequence is accompanied in the background by the famous Pink Panther Theme, there'll finally be some basic coherence in the 10.3 system interface!

I think the logo is cool too.
I don't think Apple would use it though - for one thing, there's no faux fur for Pixar to render!
(Is the Pink Panther a nekkid panther?)

Nekkid panther... that gives me an idea.
Perhaps Apple should re-theme the OS with pink, flesh-colored interface widgets and make it the ultimate porn viewer's OS.
Why?
1) 78% of broadband users use their connections to download porn. That's a huge untapped market for Apple.
2) People already say Mac OS X is "beautiful to look at" which is what porn site operators say about their content too.
3) They've built Google into Safari's toolbar, so why not build searching through ThePinkPussycat.com into the Finder?
4) It would sync very well with Apple's next lifestyle device: iPorn - an 80 GB portable drive with 6" LCD and image browser.
5) The wholesome family values of Apple are obviously not working. The education market
is dumping Apple and buying cheap Dell crap instead. So why not give the 12 year olds something to really get their interest up?
6) Apple is already using porn actors in its Switcher commercials - Will Farrell. (Not to mention sexy-as-hell barely legal teens like Ellen!)
7) People often say things like, "I was installing some kernel drivers and Mac OS X went down on me..." The code is obviously already in there.
8) More cable channels would want to cover MacWorld (s)expos.
9) Steve Jobs could start wearing T-shirts saying things like, "My bald patch is a solar panel for a sex machine!"
10) Apple have just appointed a democrat to their board of directors.

I think that icon ROCKS!!!!
I think it would be funny if Appld did use the pink panther, but I think we all know it's not going to happen.
I would die laughing if I go to the apple store, pick up Panther, install it and find that my desktop is pink and the icon is the one above...

oi vey.... the caliber of posts on this forum is so high
Anyway the pink panther thing is funny... although I think that is the only way that OS X could ever be more scary than Luna... although It might still be ahead even with the pink logo
