Greetings,
I restarted my computer this evening and the Apple Menu Bar Icons are gone (iChat, Date/TIme, Airport, battery), but Check Off and Meteorologist are still there. I try to redisplay them via preferences and clicking the .menu file in CoreServices, but to no avail. Any help?

Hi!
Sounds like yet another cache file problem to me. I'd try deleting files in the /Library/Caches and /~/Library/Caches folders.

Your SystemUIServer is not starting for some reason, that's what hosts the MenuExtras and lets iTunes see the iPod.
First thing to do is trash (you may want to back it up first) com.apple.systemuiserver.plist in your Preferences folder and logout/login. Most likely the pref file is corrupt, or you have a MenuExtra loaded which is crashing. Deleting the prefs will take care of both of these cases, though you will have to go back and add your MenuExtras back.
If trashing the prefs doesn't work the next thing I would do is check your console for messages from SystemUIServer to see what its complaining about.

I had a SystemUIServer issue that killed my Menu Bar clock and modem status, although Show Desktop and WeatherPop still showed up.
Turns out, in my case, it involved the installation of an out of date OS X theme. Seems the old theme overwrote SystemUIServer. Re-running the 10.2.4 installer fixed the problem and since then I've made sure any third-party theme I installed was made for 10.2.4.

That was my problem. Thanks
