Hi, on Wednesday I borked my LoginWindow so I replaced /System with /System from my Dad's iBook using ditto. I then used bless in the terminal. My iBook now boots and most things work but when I went to launch a VISE installer i got an error about CarbonLib. When I tried to lauch IE5 i got a similar error talking about IECarbon. Anyone know how i can fix this. I have run fsck and repaired permissions but to no avail.

You probably lost all the resource forks. Make an archive (re)install of the system.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Would broken resource forks break carbon apps? I use an argument with ditto to preserve resource forks.

Not necessarily, but likely for CFM Carbon apps.

Then that's not it probably. I would still try the archive install. It's rather painless.

I meant i can use. I didn't use -rsrcFork the first time. I'm redoing the ditto properly as we speak.

My jag disks are the update disks so I'm not 100% sure there is an archive and reinstall option.

I'll try it this way, then bless the folder then we can see it it helps at all.
