Right...I am a bit lost here...cannot find anything on this in the classic forum.

Anyone know how I can install OS9 on my external firewire drive? Or OSX for that matter??

Annd all without disturbing the data that is already on the drive...it has a lot of music and backup on it, so I am a bit nervous about loosing that in an initialise thingie from the installer cd...

Any clues? Installing os9 on external drive without formatting.

Thanks!

Try booting off the install CD and selecting the disk in the installer. If that doesn't work you may need to use Carbon Copy Cloner.

So when I select the disk in the installer, I do not have to format or initialise the disk??
