Hey all...

I've got a question: is there any way to import Safari bookmarks to Camino? I've tried to do so from within Camino without success so far, and I'd really like to be able to use the same bookmarks in both browsers in order to determine which browser I like better.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

I don't even think you can export the bookmart on Safari, since I don't even see the option to do so.

There are several programs out there to convert Camino bookmarks to Safari; I wrote one myself, in fact.

However, I haven't seen any programs yet that can do the reverse. Rather a shame; I've been considering going back to Camino, though I think I'll do that once the nightlies stop putting up all the annoying random blank windows. While an XSLT stylesheet from Camino to Safari is not hard to do, the reverse is likely to be much harder.

However, it sounds like an interesting challenge.

What should have hapened is for a OS wide 'open' format to have been created as part of the OS (sort of like the address book). Then people could have chosen whatever browser they where most comfortable with (Camino, Omniweb, Safari, Mozila, even IE), and not feel 'locked in'.
Unfortunately as the OS originally shiped with IE as the standard browser, this wasn't going to happen. Maybe 'Bookmarks' will endup being part of the 'webcore' framework, when Safari is out of beta?
