Hello!

I'm trying to optimize my hard disk with TechTool, but the proccess is interrupted because a large file, BaseDrive.vhd, can't be defragmented (no space, "only" 7 GB I liberated).

If I search with Sherlock, even invisible files, doesn't exist. Only if I search with TechTool (Data Recovery), I can discover that BaseDrive.vhd is a large file —1.9 GB— and I can't know what is it, if it's created by TechTool or what. And I encounter BaseDrive.vhd in another partition, with 250 MB.

What's this file? It's a TechTool protection file? I can't get any information about it here in MacNN forums, Google, NOTHING!!!

Somebody can help me?

Thanks!!!
Best regards from Colombia!

VHD.. Virtual Hard-Drive?

Could it be a Virtual PC file?

Yep, something to do with Virtual PC. Dunno what it is doing though if you can't find it even with a search in sherlock. Try running fsck -y?

Is it maybe inside the Virtual PC application bundle? If it is a VPC drive it'd be in ~/Documents

Could it maybe be some hidden emergency partition, such as the eDrive in TechTool Pro 4...? Unlikely, however...
