I was stupid... VERY dumb... and deleted my bookmarks that I have compiled over 5 years.

Is there ANY way to recover trashed files?

Help fast!

THANK U!

How could you not have a backup of that? It seems like its pretty important and wouldn't take up that much space.

the other "un-erase" tools like norton unerase (part of norton utils) or data recycler (thats the one i meant to link to the first time!) work by having a background process running....since you did not have either installed.....its not likely to work.....but i have not tried myself. data recycler also has a demo you can try but don't get your hopes up.

but as said above - it's probably a good time to think about some kind of back-up strategy for your important stuff

Although I can offer no help as far as recovery goes, I can offer a suggestion of what -not- to do in the mean time.

Don't reboot.
Don't run any cron scripts.
Don't erase anymore files.
Don't start moving crap around.

If possible, I would leave the comp in question alone, and do your recovery-method-searching on a different rig.
Unless you've used some software / script to wipe the data, it's probably recoverable. But the more you jack around on it, than the more likely it becomes that the data space might get overwritten with something else.
jesse ;-)

Actually... I found a backup I had a while ago.

Not all there, but a lot better!

Thank all for reading this and trying to help!
