What kind of software is being used to create 'e-flyers', with text, images and links? I need to be able to create hardcopies too - something flexible that doesn't cost too much.

Can anyone make suggestions beyond the mainstream apps?

Must be OS X. Thanks.

Well, no. Content would be sent to a list of steering group members who want to keep updated with the youth arts project I'm running.

Would I be more warmly received if my post was entitled something like 'Safari, like, totally ROCKS man'?

well, I'm not sure about creating fancy email messages and stuff, but for maintaining an opt-in mailing list, I might suggest one of the following:

- mailing list software such as Majordomo, mailman, etc.

- manual submissions into /etc/aliases, a component of Sendmail built into OS X. Is there a GUI tool for this?

- an SQL database of addresses

any other ideas?

I would think that the creation of the actual email would be much easier than your basic management of your list (i.e. handling automatic subscription requests, unsubscription requests, etc.)

I don't really understand your question I guess, but I think you want to make a mailing list. If you create a group in Address Book, you can easily send mails to them by enetering the name of the group in the To Field in Mail.

You can put text, images, and links into a Mail message just by drag and dropping. You can't make a hyperlink with a title other than its URL as yet, but the rest of this works. You should also be able to cut and paste these into TextEdit for easy saving/printing.

If you're not worried about the links, you can create a flyer in pretty much anything, save it as a .pdf, and then drag it into a Mail message.
