I use a FP iMac as an Apache web server, and therefore, it is on all of the time.

If I set the hard disk to sleep whenever possible in the Energy Saver dialog, will the machine continue to function normally as a web server? i.e. if a HTTP request comes through while the disk is sleeping, will it wake up?

I guess it will do so, however you can try by doing it. If you only let your disk spin down I guess it will.

It may not need to wake up all of the time... if data is in the disk cache or whatever. But yeah, it'll wake up if it needs to.
