Ok, i plan on buildiung a 320 gig raid setup next month but till then can i do this.


I got 2 40 gig drives, (the dual 120s+ raid card are gonna get ordered in May ) can I make em (the 2 40's) so they act as one drive? Someone said somethign about a softraid, any one know anything about this? i HATE having multipule drives/partitions, get to confusing when dealing with SOOO many files that I do in my life. any suggestions/stories would be really helpful to get me threw this still I get the hardware raid setup. thanx!

Open up /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app
Find the RAID tab.
Drag your three disks to the drop-box.
Set up a Stripe (I think that's what your asking for) and probably Mac OS Journaled Format

ok swee tso it is doable with out a raid card, i really can;t wait to get the card and theother drive, but gotta wait just a little a bit
