I've had a new powerbook for two weeks running OS X 10.2.4 and just noticed that the names of some items in the dock overlap themselves at random character counts--some overlap after 3 characters, others at 6, etc. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

I've already tried all of the following:
-resize the dock
-changed location of the dock
-changed magnification settings
-changed auto-hide resettings
-restarted the computer

Could you list any apps that you installed (such as .APE, Dock Customization Tool, etc) that could cause this?

Perhaps you could disable them one by one to see which is the culprit.

Good suggestion. These are the only ones I can think of

LaunchBar (application launcher)
xBack (use screen saver as background)
SmallScreen X (puts a frame on the page to simulate other resolutions)
FreeRuler (on screen ruler)

I'll try disabling them tonight and post success/failure tomorrow.
