Hi!

My advisor is complaining that he can't lauch APS on his TiPB running X.2.4. Whenever he started it, it is gathering the info, then suddenly quit by itself. I told him to try it on the terminal, but he said that it started the classic (?). I don't know about any more detail because I was talking to him on the phone.

Does he need to reinstall the OS? Is there any easy fix?

I've had some problems opening it before and I remember it worked fine after relaunching finder. Also sometimes it takes it a while to load for me.

We actually tried to reboot the machine several times including running "fsck" from the single mode. I also sent him my copy of ASP app to no avail.

If he has or had Norton Utilities installed there is a kext which it installed which crashes APS. I don't remember its name but the problem has been discussed in a number of places.
