Sounds good!!! Has anyone installed it yet? Noticed any "bad" changes such as the date issue and other things noticed in 10.2.4.? I'm glad they are working w/ the SMB transfers as I noticed them being quite quirky in the past.

Anyone have a direct link for the combo updater? 10.2 -> 10.2.5? I know Apple will post one eventually, I'm just hankering is all.

Improves compatibility for discs burned with certain Panasonic consumer burners.
OMFG!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see if my discs from my Panasonic DMR-E30 DVD recorder work. Check out this thread for more info on the problem.

Adds disc burning support for several device-LaCie d2 DVD Multi U&I Drive and d2 CD-RW 52x24x52x, Visual Frontier COHH-B1-A48 and COSP-B1-C24, MacPower Cold Chisel 24x12x24x8x, and these BUSlink devices: FW5252FM FireWire 52x24x52x CD-RW drive, FW4848FM FireWire 48x12x48x CD-RW Drive, RW4040FM FireWire 40x12x40 CD-RW Drive.
Hmmm.... I don't see my LG/Hitachi 32X CD-RW or my Panasonic LF-D521U DVD-RAM/-R/-RW listed.

Bluetooth Setup Assistant now works with certain Microsoft keyboards and mouse devices.
Kewl. I use the Microsoft Wireless Optical Pro Keyboard and mouse though (RF wireless). Already works great - they have excellent OS X drivers ironically.

Well, yeah, MS' OS X drivers are pretty good, but what I was talking about was keyboard/mouse support with Bluetooth devices, not 2.4 Ghz RF devices, different technology, ya know?

I am very disappointed...still does not include the worlds most advanced utility called Solitaire, or Minesweeper.

I am hoping that they will make it in 10.3.

t

ps.: and then I haven't even mentioned the missing driver and GUI support to my brand spanking new USB Powered Toothbrush.

No mention of video card driver updates?

NVidea driver update?

ATI driver update? (especially now that the 9700 is available for powermacs)

For example, Marine Aquarium still works much better on OS9 than it does on 10.2.5. OSX has jaggies and tearing during capture and developers swear it's an OSX Open GL issue. Another example, WC3 still runs much smoother under OS9 versus 10.2.5 despite maxxed-out RAM.

I guess some of us will have to wait for 10.3 and another $130 to get 3D graphics performance on par (hopefully) with OS9.

Yeah, I know. I was just saying that it's kewl that the BlueTooth one is now (presumably) also supported. However, if you don't want to spend the moolah on the BlueTooth setup, the RF one works great.

I have it installed, and so far, everything is working good. Not sure if there's any differences though. But I'll try some more stuff and see if there's any speed improvements.

I can confirm that Baghdad 10.2.5 is secured. Most of the bugs surrendered.

Most people said that Kernel Saddam died and I think I can confirm this too. Any latest report on his whereabout?

Exactly. Nothing really changes for those with the P800, as far as I can tell.

Also, I don't have high hopes for the MS BT Mouse to work. I'd love it, but spidey sense tells me a bigger, more significant update is needed. We shall see when the end-user reports come in...

Dunno about nvidia or the 9700 specifically but the general Radeon driver is fixed. On my 800 Mhz TiBook, VBL sync works again, no more tearing. Hooooray!

Also they fixed my framebuffer->rectangle texture bug, so the ATI card is as fast as nvidia in this case now.

I have always been one to hit the 'Software Update' button on OS X as often as possible... Up until 10.2.4 :-/

I'm at the moment, in the middle of a dialup d/l of 10.2.3 in an attempt to get everything working again after a total reinstall to 10.2...

Excuse me if I don't update to .5 for the next week or two...

(Although at least there are no nasty surprises reported as yet...)

Peace,

Marc

I'm the same. After 10.2.4, I'll wait. Nothing earth-shattering about 10.2.5, I'm not going to die if I don't install it. At this rate, I'm holding out for 10.3. That would be an "update."

This one makes me happy :
Addresses an issue in which the Classic environment could become unresponsive after placing a Classic application's save confirmation dialog box in the background.

Cannot tell you how many times this occurred to me. Off to actually see if they fixed it.
Everything else seems OK so far.

The 10.2.5 update messed up the power management on my 12 inch Powerbook - and brought back the permanent amber light issue - I had to reset the PMU and the battery to get rid of it again (that is how I got rid of it before).

To answer my own question from early on in this thread, you can download the 10.2.x -> 10.2.5 combo update here. I really should have thought to check VersionTracker, rather than relying on Apple's own site.

So, my modem-using, two-hour-timeout friends; let the slow crawl of downloading commence! Only 7 hours 22 minutes to go!

Not much, but Address Book now seems to support the P800 Bluetooth functions (dial, SMS). Haven't actually tried it yet, as it's too late to make any of my friends' phones ring

Also Bluetooth preferences now reports more detailed system info from the P800.

Hopefully this paves the way for release of iSync 2 before Panther (with P800 support among others).

Argh. My only complaint -- which is essentially my CONSTANT complaint is that no matter what I do, be it aliases, Symlinks, you name it, Software Update ALWAYS creates a new Applications folder on the system drive. I don't WANT Applications there; I want the damn thing offloaded and I want Software Update to FIND it. BAH!

Is there ANY way to get this done, 'cause symlinks ain't working.
