I have a 100GB WD Slave in my Dual 867 MDD and was wondering how to stop it from going to sleep? I mainly use it as a backup drive but I do run some applications on it and it bothers me that I have to wait a few extra seconds to wait for my HD to wake up. Yes I know, impatient.

Thanks.

Uncheck the 'sleep driver when possible' option in Energy Saver preference pane?

Did that. But it seems that it only does that to my primary HD.

What do you mean? I've looked but can't find any option that would allow me to set something specific to my second drive.

Similar issue, but I have problems with my secondary hard drive spinning up at random times and my computer grinds to a halt until it's spun-up - for no apparent reason.

That's exactly what happens but only when I open something on the drive or browse the drive. Is it possible that maybe you're running something off of that drive?

This should do it...

Spindown Fix

You have to run it each time you restart. You can place it in your login items, though you'll have to enter a password each time.
