Hi everyone,

I know that Disk Utility allows a user to both verify and repair permissions ownership.

But, my question is what does it use as its guideline for repairing these permissions? Should you just let Disk Utility run through the whole disk and let it repair, or should you be careful as to what it repairs?

Thanks...

I'm pretty sure it uses all installed packages in /Library/Receipts, and changes the permissions according to how the packages say they should be.

Can anyone correct me on this? Charles?
