Ok, I just had some real strange things happen, anyway, it goes like this..

My PC suddenly doesn't want to boot anymore, however the hard drive seems fine but something in windows xp screwed up. Whoopee.

I have some things on the HD I *really* want to get off it and I don't feel like pulling apart another computer to get a boot drive out, and don't want to stick the hard drive in another pc.

My g4 was sitting here so I figured I'd just slip it in there, 30 mins later after getting it in (that enclosure is a PITA to work around!), I got the machine booted up, all went well, but no HD except in sys profiler, so i reboot into OS 9, which freezes.

I restart, and it works, but freezes again.

I restart to get a flashing ? so I have to reinstall the os on my MAIN hard drive..... weeird

Anyway, all in all.. of course the drive won't mount, so how exactly do I go about this? I always thought OS X *COULD* mount fat-32 hard drives so what gives?

OS X mounts FAT32 drives without any configuration...

Sounds like your harddrive is bad. If there is a mechanical problem with the drive, it may occaisionally still read the 'bad' sectors.

I had problems with a drive's bearings once but was able to get it mounted one last time to copy everything to another drive. My solution... stick it in the refrigerator prior to use. (A solution of last resort.)
