running 10.2.5 on my iBook and tried to connect with apple+K to a windows XP computer, running the windows XP built in firewall. i could not see the computer in the browse window, so i typed in the ip address of a different pc, worked fine.

so i tried the ip of the pc i could not connect to and it sat with the percentage bar and said trying to connecto to ipaddress. then i got a kernel panic.

rebooted and then tried again and again a kernel panic.

anyone actually feel like trying to reproduce this?
anyone know how/if i can send this off to apple's bug line?

I used to have this sort of problem in 10.2.3, kernal panics all over the place using the SMB connection to windows machines. 10.2.4 fixed that, but it was crazy slow to see the machine and connect, and now 10.2.5 has made it really fast but there are still bugs in there that I've seen. I'd go ahead and submit it, but I can't reproduce it anymore (thank goodness!)

you should definitely report the bug here. You'll need to create an ADC account if you don't already have one (it's free).

Include the KP log in the report. That will help them find what's going on.
