Hi All,

I've got some files on my desktop that I can't trash. When I try, I get a message that they're being used by another task.

Thing is, they aren't. Machine has been restarted and no apps were running when I was trying to trash them.

Any suggestions?

well since no one else is replying I will post an answer I have given before (b/c I keep forgetting the right way to do it), well that said open stuffit and select delete original after compression, compress the file, delete the file you just made. obviously not a cure for the problem but a little help for the symptoms

I guess I could've done a rm in the Terminal, but I'm surprised that it required a workaround in the Finder. Oh well.
