I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but it appears the most annoying bug I ever had (really the only one) has been fixed. Basically, any time I switched tracks in iTunes I'd get this terrible stutering sound instead of music and would have to stop and then press play again to get things sounding right.

Looks like it's finally sorted.

BOH!

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

son of a bitch!

why does it do this to me? it's only when I'm using my USB Audio Quattro... which is the only thing I'll play audio thru anwyay. OS X client never had this problem

it certainly seems to have _lightened up_ with the latest update, cos now it comes back after i've switched thru about 3 songs instead of 1, but STILL wtf?!??!?!?

While we're on the audio subject...

Pluging in Soundsticks + iSub while the machine was on used to cause kernel panics back in the very old days. Then later OS X versions, plugging it in didn't cause a kernel panic but you wouldn't be able to get sound from the speakers without a restart.

But now I just tried unplugging and replugging my Soundsticks + iSub and I don't need to restart...is this new in 10.2.5? Or was this possible earlier?

Plugging the Soundsticks in a sleeping iBook caused KernelPanic in 10.2.4 so... I don't want so check if that problem still persists. :/

Apple has been fixing and re-breaking and fixing again all things USB related for some time. It looks like things are finally pretty good in 10.2.5

Well, glad your problem is better. I have a Sonica that won't pass the bitstream correctly from DTS encoded CDs. It works just fine in OS 9 with the Sonica drivers, but in OS X so far I just get the DTS light to blink on and off on the receiver. These are the only CDs I still need to use my DVD player to listen to, I was so hoping 10.2.5 would let me just make images of them and be able to put the actual CDs away with all of my other ones. Looks like I'll keep waiting...

You know, whats rather funny is that I have had a Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 (manufactured by Philips), connected with USB, and I have NEVER had a problem with it, ever. I've used it with:

9.0.4
9.1.x
9.2.x
X Public Beta
10.0.x
10.1.x
10.2.x

I never got what was so different about the Sound Sticks or the Harmon Kardon subwoofer that made them so problematic. I never had issues with the DSS 80 at all.

Now you have me wondering, as I just got my SoundSticks the other day...

When you say iSub + SoundSticks, I'm guessing you mean the SoundSticks with the built in subwolfer? As the iSub is the specific one for the iMac only, and there are some differences between them...

I of coarse can't tell you if anything like this happened prior to 10.2.5, because as I said I got the speakers yesterday, and I already had 10.2.5 (obvously)...
