Hmm, I just read thru the whole doc of ARD and they say you need an "ethernet connection" to run it.

Anyone tried this? Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to config an iBook remotely via internet and the iBooks internal modem from my G4?

I expect it to be ass slow but anyway... better than nothing.

Anyone? Please *with cream and a cherry*?

if you're a masochist i suppose you could do it.

i find in unbearable to use even on a *local* 100baseT network. painful on a cable modem (even set to black and white)... i can't even imagine using it on a modem.

timbuktu is currently the best for mac to mac control as far as speed goes. VNC is okay too... but not entirely secure or feature laden as timbuktu... but it *is* free.

microsoft remote desktop connection for controlling a PC from a mac is by far the best (fastest) one i've used yet. it's great! using a PC at work from my mac at home is faster than using VPC on the mac!

It works fine here on out 100Mbit network - especially after the 1.2 update.

I use it here daily to my win 2000 servers over 10/100 with no speed issues. I have only used it "outside" with dsl not dialup. I will try it and see how it goes.
