How do I get back to how my computer was when I first got it? I've been doing too much mucking around in shareware apps and my system has really suffered. I have everything backed up.
I want to wipe EVERYTHING off the hard drive, users, prefs, apps, etc.
How do I go back to the exact same state as when I first got it?

I think if you just start the computer up from the os x cd you can format the hard drive from there. there's also the option to do an archive and install, which saves your documents (and maybe your apps.. not sure) I would recommend the reformat.

Reformat and then reinstall.
Boot from your Jaguar CD, the installation setup window should come up.
Select Disk Utility from one of the menus (not sure exactly which menu, but its in one)
Disk Utility should come up, go to the Erase tab, select the drive, give it a new name, and click Erase.
When its finished quit Disk Utility and follow onscreen instructions to install jaguar.

Put the Jaguar CD in your CD or DVD Drive and restart holding down the 'C' key on your keyboard.

Insert the OSX Install CD. Restart holding down the C key. Go to the apple menue and
choose disk utility. Reformat or erase your
hardrive. Use extended format. Quit utilities.
This will return you to the installer. Install
OSX or OSX + Classic and Apps.

An alternative way to do this, if you only want to erase all the files on your hard drive and not reformat it, is this:
sudo rm -rf /
Warning: this will erase all the files on all disks. So if you have another hard disk with stuff you want to keep on it, or have a Zip disk or something inserted with important files, don't do this.
