So i came home from the store and opened up my TiBooks Lid, and WHAM the screen went grey, the little white box came up and the machine came to a grinding halt. But... the cursor was still blinking in the terminal -- ... so i sit down and i start typing, the chat program (BitchX) is still running. I start typing... its still working and the terminal comes before the kernel panic screen. I exit the chat and su as root, because i was going to reboot non-forcefully. but then i noticed something, the mouse cursor started moving again... and i scanned it all over to the screen... and i moused over the dock, and the icons highlighted... and then i went to fire, and brought a window forward, and started chatting again with my friend... all through this i started using the screencapture command from the terminal to get some screenshots.. at the end of it all i managed to reboot the machine using the Apple menu.
heres a link to one of the screenshots (altered to hide some names)

That is WIERD, good though you don't have to force restart. You should have tried to log out and see what happened

Nah no other problems... i've had a few kernel panics, however none where i've been able to recover and practically go along my merry way. The ram is fine, my machine's been tinkered with so much im surprised it boots at all. I sometimes get kernel panics if i unplug or unplug USB Devices while the machine is waking up (as was the case, i was just removing the peripherals to take it with me.
I just found this particular instance interesting. Figured you guys would to. im not trying to troubleshoot, i just found it kinda cool.

Sounds as though it might not have actually been a kernel panic, but something tripped the kernel panic action without actually panicing?
Is there a log for the kernel panic?

That sounds more like a Kernel Mild Alarm.

I think it had a fake panic attack because of your background image. Maybe you comp had a seizure.

I agree. It's definitely a "Kernel False Alarm."
