Just wondering how you do it?
Tried 'Grab', obviously didn't work, I have a copy of Snapz Pro that came with my Powermac... Will this do the job? or do I indeed some softeware exotica?
Cheers,
Marc

It won't work with the Appple DVD application. Grab yourself a copy of VLC and your troubles will be over.

do a search for Discribe OSX 5.0.11
that should do it within OSX's DVD player app

I have a konfabulator and I used a widget called TinySnapShot. It works on apple DVD player. Its so easy to use just click the widget and thats it.

i remember a thread from Ambrosia's board discussing how Snapz could only capture DVD video from an NVidea card, how do these apps differ so that screen capture would work?

the reason it doesn't work anyway is the way DVD Player draws to the screen in order to bypass screen capture utilities. VLC simply doesn't take this precaution. I don't know about the others, but I do remember moki mentioning once that he had an idea of how to work around the obstruction, but he was refraining in deference to Apple. I suppose these other utilities don't care what Apple thinks of them.

This seems like it's exactly what you are looking for:
DVD Capture
And it's freeware...
Gosh I love OSX

Wow. I'm impressed it was able to play almost all files from my "Unplayable" folder. Only a few files weren't able to be played.
It has a few audio problems with some files (where Quicktime did not, surprisingly), and the interface is basically crap. But it can actually play video decently.
If the icon made more sense and didn't look so crappy (what the hell is it? some kind of candycorn colored pylon?) I'd keep it in my dock. But for now it will be available from Launchbar easily too

Because unlike the useless Apple DVD Player it supports DTS and Dolby 5.1 output.

yes, its icons sucks, and so do the icons it gives files when it takes over.
i went into the package and changed the all of vlc's icons with quicktimes icons. and i got a new interface for it from this forum.
vlc is much better now. only problem, is that every time it is updated, i gotta redo the edits

I use VLC to screen cap DVD's. I can't use it to actually watch DVD's though, because it runs dog-ass slow on my Mac. Tip: Quit EVERY other app, including the Finder before watching DVD's with VLC, if you have a slow Mac.

I wouldn't know that from using it. It's not like Mozilla, which just screams out at you.
I think VLC is great! Particularly for Linux users who don't have Quicktime, WMP, or RealOne (ok, you do on x86 but's it's a hideous X11 app) It's at version 0.5 and I don't know why people WOULD have a problem with it.

It works with snapz providing you have a QE compatible video card, even an ATI one
