I'd not have posted this, if it wasnt for the fact that some really freaky stuff has now happened on 2 of my Macs running OS 10.2.5
For starters, My iMac (400mhz 512mb ram) is completely f*cked! I had to do some stuff on it in OS 9, restarted to go back to OS X.. and it got stuck while booting at the blue screen.. So far, I've only managed to start it up from an OS 9 install CD. From there I have Nortoned it. And I have also mounted it's HD on my iBook via FireWire target disk mode, so that Apples own repair utilities could have a go at fixing it (Like repair permissions etc). No Joy.. Reinstalled OS X from the CD's. No joy still! The only difference that made, was that it now boots as far as the login screen, so i type in the password, and I get the blue screen again for a moment, then it just asks me to log in again.. Zapped pram too.. Still no go.. Doesnt look like I lost any HD contentents tho. So at the moment it looks like my only option is to back up, and format the HD (Or at least junk all signs of OS X)and start all over again!? Bit drastic though isnt it???
Ok.. Next.. Surfing away on my iBook (600mhz, 384mb ram) this morning. Using Safari.. All of a sudden.. Blue screen!! AArrgghh! I nearly pooped myself. However, after a few seconds it hopped back to the login screen. So, I logged in again, and it seems fine. Concerns me a bit that it logged out by itself!?
So whats the deal with all this login weirdness? It cant just be me, surely? Anyone else?
Help & suggestions much appreciated

Your first problem with the iMac, almost looks like it could be a hardware failure. if you reinstalled the OS and it still does have the error, it could be sign of a larger problem. I recommend removing all your data and formatting, then doing a full surface scan to see if anything turns up. If your using the original hard drive that came with the iMac, chances are its beginning to fail (my iMac 10gb drive started to fail 3.5 years after i purchased the machine)
As for the second problem, my Powerbook does that occasionally if the Windowserver process collapses, or a user process goes compleletly ape and takes every user process with it. The system will automatically restart the WindowServer process and after logging back in its usually a non event. I wouldnt worry about it unless its doing it every single time your using the machine. Some hacks i've found seem to trigger it more often, after i removed metallifizer it seemed to stop. the new version of it doesnt seem to cause problems however.

Thanks for the reply Telusman
Well, for the 1st problem, I doubt the HD has failed in any way. As I replaced it just a few months ago. My iMac is a DVSE model, which had the 13gig drive as standard. And these were the drives that so many people complained about because they were so hideously noisey. Mine was no exception.. So I replaced it with a Maxtor 20gig drive.
Plus sinse this problem, My data on the drive seems fine. But obviously some aspect of my OS X login details have become corrupted, effectively rendering my iMac entirely useless. Until I re-install 10.2, with all new login details If someone knows of a better way to fix my corrupted login whatever it is, then please let me know!
2nd problem (iBook), Ok.. Obviously this isnt so serious.. But after the iMacs probems, I was getting a little worried that it was a sign of bad things to come! So I guess what happened was just a glorified crash!? And I was using a Safari Beta at the time (v73) perhaps this was somehow to blame here..
Eck.. Who would of thought the Blue Screen of Death would ever grace a Mac..

Sounds like the windowserver or loginwindow is crashing.
Is there a crash log?
