Hey,

I'm using a 12" Albook w/ Airport extreme.
Since installing the update 10.2.5 I've noticed that my download speeds using my school's wireless network have been pretty slow. I know it's pretty difficult to "prove" that it's not my network and that it's my wireless card but here are the things I've done.

I ran a bandwidth test at http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest in a building with wireless capabilities. I had a friend next to me who ran the test at the same time using his Windows XP laptop w/ wireless. I got 136 kilobits per second whereas he got 1.6 megabits per second. Does this rule out node traffic / wireless traffic / download caps that my school might have?

I went to the Apple store to see if they could help and they ran the dslreports.com speed test when my laptop was using their wireless network and it was downloading at good speeds. This is why I'm wondering if it's a problem exclusive to Airport Extreme cards accessing non Apple wireless networks.

If anyone else has noticed problems or has any ideas regarding what I can try/do/change, I'd really appreciate it..

P.S. I wasn't sure whether this should go in the networking forum or this forum...I figured since I noticed the problem after updating the OS, I might try posting here...Sorry if it's in the wrong place

Thanks in advance,

Miwok
