Mail.app preventing G4 from sleeping?

I've noticed lately that if I leave Mail.app running, it prevents my computer from sleeping on its own. Is anyone else experiencing this? G4/533, 10.2.4 (I had the 10.2.5 kernel panic/USB hub bug), 384 ram. Sleeps fine when Mail isn't running.
