Since a while I have a strange problem with my cursor while typing. It seems that the cursor just jumps to another place in the tekst once in a while or that some tekst just disappears. At first I though it was because I accidently touched my TiBooks touchpad, but since I'm keeping an eye on it, I realized it isn't...

Anyone has this problem? I suspect it's since the 10.2.5 upgrade, but I'm not too sure...

Nobody's having the same problem, or knows a way to fix it? It's really annoying

not sure what that is, but give more information...

does this happen in all apps, or just one?
which one(s)?

does the cursor jump to the same place, or is it random??

for a start, check your mouse (& trackpad) settings in system prefs...

(just a thought)

It could be a defective track pad. I have had to have them replaced on one Mac and a few Dells.

well, it happens in every app as far as I know, the cursor seems to jump random.

The strange thing is though that my mouse-pointer doesn't move... Only the cursor just jumps a few letters back or some lines up

My trackpad settings didn't change since my installation and it seems to happen since the latest upgrade. 10.2.5

Let me guess ... you are talking about an external optical mouse?

I've been having the same problem, but so far I've failed to find an answer to it. It sometimes helps to clean the sensor, but thats not normally the problem. I have a feeling that it could be the surface of my table that is causing the problem.

Nonono, I only use my TiBook without a mouse and my trackpad enabled...

What type of mouse (drivers) do you have?

Edit: Oops, did not see your last post. Nevermind. I had a Microsoft Mouse, and I had the same problem.

No, serieusly not: It's definitely some bug. How can my sweaty hands cause the cursor to jump when I'm not even toching my touchpad (I watch it when I type now)

It seems to get worse though. Also when I type in a url in safari the text suddenly goes away when typing, or when I'm typing now the cursor suddenly jumps in the middle of another word and I end up typing text where it doesn't belong. Very weird and annoying...

have you checked the Ignore Trackpad while typing pref in the Mouse system preferences?

You know it makes sense. ☼ ☼ ☼ Growl.
