As I eagerly waited for today's annoucements, I tried to download iTunes 4 and QT 6.2 from the Software Update preference pane. However, neither showed up in the SU app. What gives?

I'm actually happy to see that they are doing this. Quicktime 6.2 and iTunes 4 are unproven. They shouldn't force an upgrade on users until they are somewhat sure that there aren't major issues. If it were a security update or something I would be upset, but lets give them a few days to confirm that there aren't any major issues.

Exactly why I'm waiting a couple days before I install QT 6.2 and iTunes 4

Eh, I didn't notice. I downloaded both from the web at first announcement anyway.

The ironic thing about all this is that when I downloaded iTunes 4, it opened a page saying that the next time I want to stay up to date I should use the Software Update feature. So I tried to use Software Update on a different Mac late last night to get iTunes 4 and it wasn't yet available.
