For the first time ever I have to think about CONSERVING my music and having decide who to give it too, and personally I still have reservations about buying DRM music.

So here's the question: If the music will only play on three macs, what happens if I do more than several HD wipes? How does Apple know it's still my machine? Also, I want this music for life, what if I purchase more than 3 macs in the future?

And a scary one: I give my music to someone who I really don't know that well and enter my Apple ID+Password. Can they decrypt it later from the song and access ALL of my Apple info?

So many questions, some probably are stupid, you decide....
I'm from the government and I'm here to help

I don't see how your machine's ID would be affected by wiping your hard drive. It's probably based on the serial number or something.

You can "un-authorize" a machine as well, so no problem selling your current Mac and getting a new one.

As far as your credit card info goes... none of that is stored in the files. It's all on Apple's servers. And if someone knows your Apple ID and password, then they don't need your ACC files, they can just go to the Apple website (duh). So just don't give anyone your Apple ID and password. This is common sense, not some evil scheme to rob you blind.
