Yesterday after resizing iTunes, I noticed that the window did not reshape correctly... displaying the window contents... it did the old os 9 thing... just displaying dotted lines... don't get me wrong, I liked OS 9, but I like os x and windows showing contents being updated in realtime... strange anyway, huh?

that's apple realizing their window manager still needs tons of work. expect to see apple follow this route in the future with the rest of its applications. and why is live resize so sought after? seems like a moot point to me. i like the new way (old way?) it works.

Might you have had the command key press at the time. Holding the command key while resizing in iTunes will toggle live and outline resize.

G4 with Quartz Extreme = Liver Resizing
No Quartz Extreme or a G3 = OS 9 Resizing

True, but like the poster said above you can also hold down the command key and resize in the OS 9 way.

Just G4 is enough.

An excellent way to get the Liver Resizing feature is to become an alcoholic.

i noticed i can't get iTunes to fill the entire screen on my 12" iBook. i try to make it wider, but it stops about 1/4 away from the edge of the screen (20-30 pixels i guess).

is it just me? everything else i can drag out to fill the screen, but not iTunes. dumb!

That sometimes happens to me when I connected my TiBook to a TV in 640x480 res. I worked around it by dragging the window past the border, then resizing.

WOW! How do you people find this stuff out? And why does Apple put this stuff in? Any why doesn't it work in any other applications?

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

This is great. I hope to see outline dragging in more apps. Much better than choppy resizing I say.

Nope... any G4 will do. My G4 400 has live resizing...even when its slow enough that it shouldn't!
