I'm making PDF's from MSWord for a client using Word for X, printing to postscipt and Distilling the file. But... the printing margins apply themselves to the ps file and the page numbers are getting chopped in half.

I have tried making a virtual printer (according to Mac Help Instructions) and printing postcript via that printer, but still the same problem. Any help for me?

Also tried DOCtor, but that has formatting issues. These Word files are pretty complex - about 30mb.

edit: I used to use the Distiller PPD in OS9 -- any equivalent to that for X?

I don't know much about this stuff, but the "Print to PDF file" option in the print dialog doesn't do what you want?

Not really. The files are too large - 12.5mb as opposed to 1,8mb with distiller. But anyway, I think that I have solved my issues - with a 10.2.5 update. Now I can setup custom page sizes in the Page Setup dialog and set margins there to be 0.

Now I have a new problem - my Accounts prefPane is gone AWOL. *&(*^^*&%

With System Preferences NOT open, delete ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache

Then relaunch System Preferences
