problem printing on windows xp shared printer

I installed Samba printer on my 10.2.5 OS X and everythings works great. i can connect to it but i can not print:
Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...: Undefined error: 0
Whats wrong?

before i got mine working it would always seem like it was connected fine, and then gave me that same error.
i got it working by using:
smb://username:password@workgroup/server/sharename
i could not get it working if i did not put a username and password in there.

I did that. Someone in the usenet said this happens since some security update in march. I have 10.2.5 and this patch is included in this version, i think. Does anybody have the same problem with 10.2.5? The apple-support is not worth a penny. They did not even understand my problem...

i originally installed the priting into 2.4 and it worked fine, i upgraded to 2.5 and it was fine. i reinstalled osX and installed 2.5 and i still had no problems

Have you tried printing to the IP address rather than the win XP share name? I know that some versions of windows fight amongst themselves and other computers with respect to the naming authority.
Try setting you printer up as smb://user@pass:192.168.1.101/hp where the numbers are your actual IP address for the Win box and the /hp is replaced with the 'share name' of the printer.

Thanks for your help. Sadly it did not help. I cannot connect to the printer. Perhaps it is related to the samba security update???
