Hi,
So I was forced to reinstall OS X because of an issue that would cause the installer to crash when any program tried to install. I assumed all of the software that was installed on my 17" PB would be on the disc. However, half of what was on it initially is gone. No iDVD, no QuickBooks, etc. etc.

My question is how do I go about getting all of the software I had when I received it? It's not my fault I had to reinstall. Will Apple help me out on this or am I SOL?

I take it you reinstalled from the Jag disks, all the software will be on the "Software Restore Disks" that came with the computer... usally a load of them (7 or something)

revs
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.

I installed from the 'Software install and Restore' CD. It's the only CD that came with the 17" PB. Should I have received something more?

Did your 17" come with a cd install set or a DVD install disk? If it's the DVD theres a package that says isntall classic and additional software that has to be installed, then run software restore from the utilities folder on the hard drive.

By the way, this is all covered in your user guide. So my suggestion would be to RTFM.
