I have a 15" FP iMac and tried to load the latest version of YD Linux. I could not use the graphical installer as the screen wanted to behave as if it had lost horizontal sync. I reverted to the text installer and picked the proper monitor but the installed software still wants to roll from left to right. Any suggestions? By the way I was running mandrake Linux on a separate partition without any problems.
I don't know how you're booting but I've had the "horizontal hold" problem and I had to "play" with the following kernel arguments:
video=atyfb:vmode:17:cmode:16
Actually I don't think I used the video argument but I'm not sure. It was mainly the vmode and cmode arguments with which I had to experiment. The values that worked were rather different from those in this example but you can only experiment.
