my keyboard and mouse frequently lose power (mouse is connected to KB)...
is this the hub problem that everyone is talking about in 10.2.5?
Or am i experiencing completely new?
depending on the use, every 5-10 min my mouse and keyboard will lose power.
any ideas on what this could be?

Could be the hub. Could also be the connection your keyboard is making in the hub. Try unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in. Do this a couple times, that'll hopefully clean off the connections.

My Logitech mouse would lose power if plugged in a keyboard, so now I have to plug it directly into my iBook's USB port, and it's been fine ever since.

Check you don't have a loose connection in one of the wires. A shorted wire will shut down the USB bus to protect the computer. If unplugging and pluggin it back in solves the problem, this is most likely the cause. I see it at work all the time on the Apple Pro mice, they're such a bad design (mechanically speaking, aesthetically they're gorgeous) it's not funny.

"intellimouse explorer"?
hehe, I know what the problem is then, the wires in the cord have become worn out.
Happened to my mouse, play with the wires some and you will see the light come on again. I have had mine since around when they first came out too.
