Hi all,
This has been driving me nuts for the last hour. Why is it that 99% of the machines on our company's domain show up as "dhcp-10-x-x-x" and maybe one or two actually show up with readable machine names? However, at home, in my workgroup ALL my Windows machines show up with readable names.

So what's the reason for most of the machine names in a domain showing up as "dhcp-10-x-x-x"? Windows can obviously see these machine names.

Also, I'm not if I'm actually ON the domain. OS X is smart enough to see it, but under Windows, if I want to connect to the Mac I have to use "\\dhcp-10-x-x-x-x\username". Why not "\\DP500\username"?

There's gotta be something I'm missing.
