I am on a steenking dial-up connection that times out every two hours.
I am also in the process of downloading the Yellow Dog Linux ISOs, which total 1.8GB.
I am a patient man.
However, because of the two hour time out, I am unable to leave my computer downloading for great stretches of time. At the moment I connect and set it going just before I go to sleep, jut before I go to work, but that's only 4 hours a day. At about 15MB/hour, that'll take 30 days...
Were I able to maintain said Internet connection, say download for 12 hours a day (6 whilst sleeping, 6 whilst at work), it would only take me but 10 days.
All of which long-winded jibba jabba leads to:
How can I make my computer reconnect to the internet every two hours?
AppleScript? Some hidden preference? A monkey to point and click for me?
Thanks,
Simon
PS - Using Download Wizard to get the ISOs, hence the resumabality.
