Only after installing the 10.2.5 upgrade: when I boot up in 9.22, my ethernet speeds are crippled (approx. 1 MB per minute, as opposed to several MB per second).

I thought 10.2.5 could have done something to my 9.22 (updating its "Classic" mode) so I installed a clean version of 9.22 on another attached drive. Booting into that, same problem.

Could 10.2.5 somehow be crippling the OS 9 boots? I'm leery about installing 10.2.5 on more systems, since we need to maintain dual booting for use of Quark, etc.

Has anyone heard of this, maybe this machine has just gone south...

It's possible that it could create conflicts in Classic mode, but I don't see how the classic extensions could effect things when booted into OS 9.

Have you tried disdabling all the classic compatibility extensions and re-booting 9?

(FWIW, Netscape 4 in Classic seems fine here)

Problem with ethernet speeds in 9.22 disappeared after I installed the 10.2.6 update. I don't care why! Its working again.
