Topic says it all.

I haven't tried this one yet, but can you put a mac w/scsi drive in Target firewire mode if it's the only (bootable) drive in the machine?

Unless I'm mistaken, only the PowerBooks and iBooks are capable of entering Target mode. Powerbooks haven't used SCSI for their hard drives since long before FireWire was introduced, and iBooks have never used SCSI for their hard drives.

All macs with firewire can enter Target mode. And most of apple's servers (based on the tower case) shipped with SCSI 160 drives (seagate cheetas)

not all macs with firewire can enter target disk mode. B&W G3's with firewire ports CANNOT enter into firewire target disk mode. apple's KB articles have a listing of supported mac that can be put into firewire target disk mode. if memory serves me right, anything AFTER the B&W G3 with firewire ports can enter into target disk mode.
maybe you meant can accept another computer being in target disk mode? my B&W G3 sees my ibook's hd and mounts it on the desktop just fine if the ibook is in target disk mode. but not the other way around.

well, all of this is really irrelevant...All I wanted to know was if a scsi drive would mount if I put that computer in Target mode...IE, I have an ATTO or ADAPTEC SCSI card...will drives connected to that card mount on my desktop if that computer is put in Target mode via Firewire.

No.

Only the target machine's master ATA hard drive will be bridged to FireWire.
