I can no longer save after editting my cron file.

"crontab.koGId069IA" 7L, 423C written
crontab: temp file must be edited in place
I last editted my crontab on April 29th.

Since then I show in my /Library/Receipts that I have installed

drwxr-xr-x 3 zimmy unknown 102 Apr 29 18:32 DarwinStreamingServer.pkg
drwxr-xr-x 3 zimmy unknown 102 Apr 29 18:34 QuickTimeBroadcaster.pkg
drwxr-xr-x 3 zimmy wheel 102 May 7 17:20 iCal.pkg
drwxrwxrwx 3 zimmy unknown 102 May 7 17:24 iSync.pkg
drwxr-xr-x 3 zimmy wheel 102 May 7 22:39 MacOSXUpdate10.2.6.pkg
I am using the command

>crontab -e

which I had been working just fine...

I did a DiskUtility->Repair Permissions with no change in behavior.

sudo ls -al /var/cron/tabs shows that my file is there.

Ideas?

thanks,
Mike

Ok, so I solved it just after I posted... but still not sure why this worked...

I had recently aliased vi to vim.

Seems as tho the crontab command was calling vi as the editor (and thus getting vim). But do not know what vim was doing that was objectionable....

Cheers,
Mike
