Hi,

I am having a problem using Disk Copy to mount disk images. When I try to mount an image, the program sits for a while on the "Waiting for disk copy helper" screen, and then it just quits. When I try opening Disk Copy first and then dragging the image onto it, it gives the error "Unable to load the disk image driver. Invalid argument (-536870208)."

The problem persists for all dmgs and all users, so I know it is not a problem with my individual preference/setting files.

I am currently repairing permissions and will see if that helps. In the meantime, any other suggestions? Thanks.

I ran into that once. A reboot cured it.

Alternately, you could try using another mounting application or use hdiutil mount /path/to/some.dmg in the terminal.

Thanks! Rebooting fixed the problem. I had tried logging out and back in, but I didn't try rebooting because I thought it wouldn't work since logging out didn't work. I guess I was wrong.

BUT, now Safari won't launch! It bounces in the Dock and then stops. Oh no! I'll try to troubleshoot this now. Deleting the prefs didn't work.

In case anyone is wondering, fixing the permissions didn't make a difference in the original problem, and also the command-line mount utility generated the same error as running Disk Copy.

P.S. I am not using PithHelmet.
